January 2024 saw the opening of Dentisan’s impressive, energy-efficient new home at Indurent Park, Derby, where the company continues its tradition of delivering innovative products that have made it a leader in dental infection control in the UK and Kent Express’ no.1 selling brand in this area.

Dentisan’s parent company, Quadralene, now part of the Getinge Group, has over 95 years’ experience in surface and disinfectant technology. The knowledge gained in the healthcare arena, along with changes in dental decontamination procedures, led to the launch of the Dentisan brand in 2008 and over the last 17 years, Dentisan has gained a reputation for providing high-quality products, technical support and education for dental professionals.

Dentisan’s award-winning product portfolio has been designed by a team of in-house chemists to exactly meet the requirements of infection prevention in dental practices and be compliant with all necessary British and European standards.

The team has been responsible for formulating all Dentisan’s ground-breaking products, including Biocleanse Ultra, Bioclear and Bioclear Daily, and continues to carry out research and development with the aim of improving formulations so customers are able to benefit from ongoing innovations that are effective within the unique environment of the dental surgery.

Sustainability

As a UK manufacturer, sustainability is a priority for Dentisan. As part of its sustainability pledge, many Dentisan products are pH neutral, fully biodegradable and come in packaging that uses recycled or recyclable materials where possible, but without ever compromising on quality.

Delivering in-house manufactured products to UK distributors also plays a crucial role in reducing the carbon footprint associated with the long-distance transportation of goods.

A new beginning

In November 2020, Dentisan was acquired by Getinge, a leading global provider of products and systems that contribute to quality enhancement and cost efficiency within healthcare and life sciences.

One of Getinge’s immediate aims was to relocate Dentisan to larger, more sustainable premises that would allow it to significantly expand its UK manufacturing capacity and bring Getinge’s entire UK operations under one roof.

The new 79,000 sq/ft facility at Indurent Park, Derby has been designed as a sustainable building to help reduce any negative impacts on the natural environment. It is rated ‘Excellent’ by BREEAM - the certification body for sustainable construction - and incorporates production and warehousing alongside a laboratory, dedicated showroom, training academy and office space.
