Dental X-Rays have come a long way since the days of dark rooms and chemical processing. Most dental practices now have some form of digital radiography that allows them to quickly develop X-Rays and share the images on a screen with a patient in next to no time. The more streamlined the X-Ray procedure, the better for dentist and patient alike.

What This Means

Faster images means happier patients. Few patients want to be in the dental chair any longer that they have to be. By speeding up the X-Ray process, more time becomes available to talk through the patient’s oral health with them and explain their treatment plan. The sharp, accurate and well contrasted images produced by the PSPIX2 also helps with dentist-patient communication.

How Easy Is It To Convert To?

The PSPIX2 can be easily retrofitted to existing rooms and used in multiple rooms within the practice, since it can be shared by up to 10 workstations. The initial purchase of a digital scanner will be the most expensive part of the conversion process, but this machine can last a lifetime with proper maintenance.

As phosphor plate radiography is the digital X-Ray system which most closely resembles that of traditional X-Rays, it is widely considered to have the easiest learning curve.

How Do You Use The PSPIX2?

The PSPIX2 is designed for simple installation and universal use. Once set up, the unit is intuitive and easy to understand. PSPIX2 scanners are delivered with Acteon’s AIS (Acteon Imaging Suite) Software’, which is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Based on Acteon’s unique, time-saving ‘Click and Scan’ concept, the process is fully automated for complete convenience.

All you need to do is make your selection on the large display screen. You then simply remove the plate’s plastic barrier, drop it in, and let the PSPIX2 do the rest.

The door only opens when the imaging plate is inserted. Once inserted, the scanner automatically detects the plate size. The image is then scanned, optimised and displayed on your preferred screen.

The imaging plate is then automatically erased and ejected, ready to be reused. The scanner uses colour lights to indicate the status of the scan, such as if the machine is available for use (blue light) or is scanning (purple light)

It Is Hygienic?

Hygiene is an important aspect of each step of the PSPIX2 X-Ray process. For the imaging plates, hygiene bags provide a protective cover that ensures optimal protection against light, mechanical damage and cross contamination.

The PSPIX2 has removable parts that be processed in thermal washer-disinfectors to meet the latest infection control standards.

Optional autoclavable parts also help reduce any risks of cross infection.

Comfort And Convenience For All

PSPIX2 imaging plates are extremely flexible for more comfortable placement in the patient's mouth.

Available in a wide range of sizes, the plates offer a completely wireless X-Ray experience that is void of bulky sensors, which can be uncomfortable for patients.

Dental care professionals can benefit from the unit’s compact design and size, which allows it to sit seamlessly on most dental work tops.
